Microsoft regularly release updates for Windows (and other installed Microsoft products such as Office)

Windows will automatically check and download updates regularly as long as Automatic updating is enabled in the Action Center

 

To manually check for updates click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Update > Check for updates

 

You can also click Change settings to enable or modify automatic update settings - it is recommended you always keep Automatic updates turned on
